Job Summary:
Interim HealthCare of Lexington MA is seeking a highly motivated, driven, and passionate individual to join our team as a Summer Intern with a focus on healthcare. This is a part-time, hourly unpaid position purely for training and gaining experience on the administrative side of healthcare, located in Lexington, Massachusetts. As an individual contributor, the intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on Admin experience and knowledge in the healthcare industry.
Compensation & Benefits:
The Summer Intern position is a part-time, 4 hrs / day M-F unpaid position. The intern will have the opportunity to learn and grow in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, gaining valuable skills and experience in the healthcare industry.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Administrative staff with day to day operations like making phone calls to MD offices, working on Plans of care of patients.
- Attend and participate in team meetings, training sessions, and other relevant activities.
- Learn and adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client care activities.
- 1 position for Marketing major who is willing to be in the field contacting the MD offices, ALFs, SNFs is encouraged to apply
- Maintain client files/ employee files in order
- Learn and follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe and healthy environment for clients.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and projects.
- Training is provided on HIPAA, Exposure control, Proper body mechanics, Medical Device Act training etc training will be provided. The ones interested could be trained to be a PCA.
Requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a Bachelors degree in a healthcare-related field.
- Seniors and Juniors pursuing Medical education, career in the healthcare industry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to policies and procedures.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
