We are seeking a Certified School Nurse (CSN) to provide professional health services and promote wellness throughout the student population. This is a full-time position following the school calendar with weekends, holidays, and summers off—ideal for nurses seeking consistent daytime hours and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities for the CSN Certified School Nurse:

Deliver school-based nursing services in accordance with Pennsylvania School Code, Department of Health regulations, Division of School Health guidelines, and school policies.

Use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized healthcare for students.

Provide both routine and emergency care to students during the school day, including medication administration, chronic condition management, and triage for illness or injury.

Maintain student health records, conduct health screenings, and monitor immunization compliance.

Collaborate with teachers, counselors, families, and healthcare providers to support student health needs and educational outcomes.

Promote health education and awareness among students and staff.

Ensure proper documentation and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and FERPA regulations.
Minimum Qualification for the CSN Certified School Nurse:

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Pennsylvania

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

PA Department of Education certification as an Educational Specialist – School Nurse

Preferred background in pediatrics, community health, emergency, critical care, or med-surg nursing

Understanding of Pennsylvania’s Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting requirements

Current with Act 48 professional development standards for school nursing
