We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide on-call hospice services over the weekend. The On-Call Nurse will be available to respond to urgent patient needs, complete admissions, make PRN visits, and handle patient deaths as needed from Friday at 5:00 PM through Monday at 8:00 AM. We are open to having two RNs on call for the weekends if needed.
This position is ideal for an independent, experienced hospice RN who can deliver care with clinical excellence, empathy, and professionalism in a home or facility setting.
Key Responsibilities:

Be on-call and available via phone for hospice patient needs during assigned hours.

Perform in-person PRN visits as necessary, including symptom management, patient/family support, or crisis intervention.

Complete hospice admissions, including documentation and initial assessment.

Respond promptly to patient deaths to provide support and complete required documentation.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care.

Document all visits and communications per agency protocols and in compliance with hospice regulations.
Requirements:

Active RN license in the state of South Carolina

Minimum 1 year of hospice nursing experience strongly preferred.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and respond calmly and effectively in crisis situations.
Schedule:

On-Call Hours: Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 8:00 AM

Flat Rate Compensation: $225 for availability from Friday at 5:00 pm until Monday at 8:00 am

Visit Pay: PRN visits, admissions, and deaths are paid per visit, in addition to the flat rate.
