Insurance Verification and Prior Authorization Specialist (Home Health)
Interim Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Insurance Verification & Prior Authorization Specialist to support our home health operations. This role is responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, securing prior authorizations, and ensuring all patients are financially cleared for services before admission. This position plays a direct role in preventing delays, reducing denials, and keeping patient care moving efficiently.
- Location: Blakely, PA
- Competitive Compensation; discussed at time of hire
- Office Setting, Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
- PTO starting point; 2 weeks vacation, 5 sick days, 3 personal days

Key Responsibilities of the Insurance Verification Specialist:
- Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage for home health services
- Confirm payer requirements including authorizations, visit limits, and service guidelines
- Submit, track, and obtain prior authorizations in a timely manner
- Communicate with insurance companies via phone and online portals
- Document all verification and authorization details accurately in the system
- Collaborate with intake, scheduling, and clinical teams to ensure smooth patient admissions
- Identify and resolve coverage or authorization issues before services begin
- Follow up consistently on pending authorizations to avoid delays in care
- Maintain compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer guidelines
Minimum Qualification for the Insurance Verification Specialist:
- Highschool Diploma or Equivalent; required
- General knowledge in the healthcare field and/or experience in a healthcare setting
- General knowledge of home health, insurance authorizations, and/or billing processes; preferred, but not required.
- Familiar with EMR systems (wellsky, HCHB, or similar); preferred, but not required.
- Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care plans; preferred, but not required.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
